for those individuals looking to achieve thier educational goals.

Literacy & Basic Skills Program
Confederation College
Literacy & Basic Skills (LBS) is funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to provide adults
19 years and older (with some exceptions), opportunities to develop the academic skills necessary for the achievement of education or employment goals.
Adult Learning Centre/Thunder Bay Literacy Group
Provides services to those 18 years of age and older that are out of regular day school to complete thier high school education and receive a diploma. Services include;
Mature Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (M-PLAR). Prepare for University,
College or the workplace by improving your skills and marketability.
Lakehead Public Schools Alternative Education Programs
Offers a number of options to those youth that have difficulty learning in a
traditional classroom.
Thunder Bay and District Catholic School Alternative Education Programs
The primary program offered by the board to assist youth unable to participate in mainstream secondary
classrooms is Bridges. The goal of this program is to assist those youth in transition between grades 7 and 10 by providing an alternative to the regular school environment.
