Here are some options!
Start a New Career: Second Career
Objective: Support laid-off individuals who require skills to find employment in a demand occupation in Ontario.
Eligibility:
- Laid-off on or after January 1, 2005.
- Unemployed or taken one or more interim jobs to make ends meet.
- Training plan must be 6 months to 2 years in length. Must be full-time training.
Questions:
Funding: Provides up to a maximum of $28,000 to help pay for tuition, books and other training-related costs.
Start a Business: Ontario Self-employment Benefit Program
If you are unemployed and eligible for Employment Insurance, financial help and advice may be available while you develop and start your own business.
Job Searching: Targeted Wage
Eligibility:
- Are eligilble for Employment Insurance (EI), or were eliible within the past 3 to 5 years.
- Superior Connections can assist those on unemployment who are looking for work.
- Employers may be eligible for subsidy up to 60% of the wage for up to 6 months.
Youth Skills Enhancement: Referral to: Skills Link
Objective: Help youth facing barriers in employment gain skills and work experience.
Eligibility:
- Under 30 years of age. Not in receipt of Employment Insurance benefits.
- Out of school and in need of assistance to overcome employment barriers.
- Training is 12 weeks or less that will fill gaps in education and or skills development.
